massacre at sandy hook elementary school. six adults including 29-year-old rachel davino who dressed up in costume and broke out in song to help her students learn. and ann marie murphy whose parents say shield some of her students from the hail of bullets. full-time substitute teacher lauren russo dreamed as a little girl of becoming a teacher, even making a set of dolls her first classroom of students. mary was the school psychologist who for years helped children deal with life's terrible challenges. when the first shots were fired, she and school principal dawn hochsprung quickly headed toward the danger. the two women reportedly lunged at the gunman and died trying to overtake him. there was also 27-year-old teacher vickie lee soto who died trying to protect her students. >> their father, carlos, was up the other night identifying vickie's body and was just told kind of how she was found, protecting her kids, doing instinctively what she knew to do, protecting her children. >> the gunman's mother, nancy lanza, was the first victim last friday, shot by her own son in thei

carried at least three guns into sandy hook elementary on friday but they say he used old one of them to kill the children, an assault-style rifle that his mother bought. the medical ex-naerm newtown says the children were each shot several times, all with an assault-style rifle like this one, a bush master bushmaster similar to the rifle used ten years ago by the washington, d.c. snipers who killed ten people and wounded three others. investigators say the gun belonged to nancy lanza of newtown, purchased legally in the last few years and used, they say, by her son, adam, who took it to the school after first fatally shooting his mother at the home where they both lived. authorities have not said how she stored the weapons, whether she kept them locked. nancy lanza's sister-in-law, adam lanza's aunt, stays is not unusual for a divorced woman, like nancy, who lived alone, to have them in the house. >> self-defense. she was a female. live aid loan, live nald beautiful neighborhood. >> reporter: but those guns she bought for protection, investigators say you were used by her own so

right, andrea. we are here in fairfield about 30 miles from sandy hook where noah posner's burial services are underway. they began about 1:00 today. it is that day, andrea, where we start saying good-bye to all those bright boys and girls, those faces and names that we have learned over the course of the last few days. again, you mentioned the first funerals and services. little noah was 6 years old. he is described by his uncle as smart as a whip, gentle, but having a ram bunkus streak. he leaves behind a twin sister, arielle who was in a separate class and made it out of that school on that day, and he said that his uncle said that noah considered arielle his best friend. they also have an older sister, 8-year-old sophie -- sophia, and the family members said they were all inaccept rabl during that time. in this area from fairfield, connecticut, back to newtown, jack pinto, also 6, his funeral also underway in the next few hours and afternoon. children have been arriving to that funeral wearing some newtown jerseys and relatives and family and friends have crowded into that fac
